VCE Debating 2013
Congratulations to both the Year 11 and Year 12 teams for a very successful start to 2013.

In Round 1 the Year 12 team of Harleen Kaur, Jascha Catacutan, Mehak Sheik and Aimee –Lee Hill successfully argued that ‘Greece should leave the Eurozone’ against Overnewton College.

The Year 11 team of Celine Tang, Matthew Humphrey-Chapman and Jenny Pham –Vo were also successful in arguing that ‘Youth wages should be equal to Adults’.
In Round 2 the Year 12 team of Renahi Zengin, Beray Uzunbay and Mustafa Kacmazer were able to defeat St Columba’s College on the topic ‘That prescription should be advertised’.
The Year 11 Team of Felicia Chen, Dianna Duong and Matthew Humphrey-Chapman were also successful in defeating Overnewton College arguing that ‘Feminism is still necessary in today’s society.’
Highlights included Beray being awarded Best Speaker and the Year 11 team winning by a huge margin in round two. Remarkably for the Year 12 students it was their first ever debates!
