1:1 Learning Program

Next year will be the second year of our 1:1 Learning Program, which aims to provie individual access to powerful digital learning resources for every student at Copperfield College. In 2013, all students from Year 7 to 12 will have a Lenovo notebook to assist their learning at school and at home.

It is called a 1:1 Learning Program because there will be one computer to one student throughout the College.

The College used ‘once only’ Commonwealth Government funding in 2011 - 2012 to provide notebooks to students in Years 9, 10 and 11. These students will be in Years 10. 11 and 12 in 2013 and have used their notebook for much educational benefit for nearly a year. We expect them to continue to develop their skills and knowledge and use this powerful resource to improve their learning outcomes. Parents of Year 7 students in 2012 committed to a co-contribution scheme that will continue to provide a notebook to these students in Year 8 in 2013 and Year 9 in 2014 for the same purpose.

Another notebook contribution scheme for parents of Years 7 and 9 students is commencing in 2013. Details of this scheme will be sent out to parents shortly. These students will be provided with their notebook early in the new school year, when students and parents have attended and signed the Acceptable User Agreement at notebook distribution dates as well as paid the first year's contribution cost.

The College has produced two documents, a 1:1 Learning Program Guide, and Frequently Asked Questions for the Program. Hopefully these answer any questions you might have. Should you have any further questions about the Program that these documents do not answer, please contact one of our Campus Principals or Campus Leaders.

Note Year 7, 9, 10 and 11 students in 2012 will be required to return their notebook to school for servicing and auditing towards the end of this year. We expect continuing students will have access to their notebook over the school holidays, once their enrolment for 2013 has been confirmed, and the second year parent contribution for Year 7 students has been paid.
