Western Bulldogs Visit

On Wednesday 1st April, Western Bulldogs players Adam Cooney, Ryan Heargraves and Tim Callan ran a footy clinic for our senior students at Delahey.  The visit from the players especially 2008 Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney created a lot of interest from students and also staff and it was great to see all enjoy the opportunity to have a kick with the players,  grab a photo or two and an autograph.  A number of photos are attached.

Thanks to all the Delahey students and staff who supported the clinic and special thanks to Sam Watkins for promoting it at Delahey.

Copperfield on show at Keilor Plaza
as part of Education Week

On Wednesday 20th May, many of our Performing Arts students from across our three campuses entertained shoppers at Centro Keilor Plaza between 12-1pm.
Our students were brilliant and feedback from Centre Management was very positive. Big thanks to staff Andrew Minard, Nyssa Bradsworth , Vivian Bertone and Soula Dedes for their support and assistance on the day. Huge thank you to Helen Jensen for organising all the Performing Arts students who entertained on the day and for representing the College with such distinction and professionalism. Congratulations to all the students who performed and contributed to the success of our session on the day.

Also as part of Education week, we had the opportunity to display various pieces of student work for the week on a display board in the middle of the shopping centre. A very big thankyou to staff Susai Balthazar, Karyn Wilkinson, Sharlene Rapa, Kimberley Swindells, Karen Martin and Pam Farrelly for providing some brilliant student work.

Thanks

Delbridge Bingo Bonanza

On Tuesday 16th June, 2009 the Kings Park Student Leaders held a sensational ‘Bingo Bonanza’ for approximately twenty elderly residents from the Delbridge Hostel, in the Kings Park library.
An initiative for the student leadership group to organise an event for a community group.

The organisation of the event was entirely in the hands of the students and they did a tremendous job.  With a number of planning sessions held in leadership meeting in the weeks leading up to the day,  students were very eager to make the day a huge success and planned accordingly.

The residents enjoyed a lovely morning tea which was beautifully prepared by Ms. Minto Arora and her assistants.  Residents participated in three rounds of Bingo games. Students paired up with one of the elderly and assisted them when numbers were called out on specially designed Copperfield Bingo cards.  Prizes were on offer for each game winner along with many other spot prizes. Musical performances and light entertainment was also provided during the day.

The Delbridge residents were extremely complimentary of the wonderful work, nature and effort the students put in.  In appreciation, students were presented with a certificate that is now on display at Kings Park General Office.

Thank you to Delbridge for their tremendous support again of our students. Congratulations to the Kings Park Student Leadership group for their wonderful work and outstanding professionalism in organising the Bingo Bonanza and Morning Tea. Student Leaders represented the College with great distinction and professionalism.

The students would like to express a very big thank you to the Principal team for supporting their efforts, Ms Minto Arora for all the catering and the KP library team for their patience, help and support on the day

Soula Dedes & Darryl Forbes
